Synthetic Lab Opens in Spartanburg for a Sustainable Future!

Spartanburg

– A startup company, SusMaTech, renowned for its green, forward-thinking aspiration, has pioneered a new beginning in the charming city of Spartanburg. Its first new synthetic laboratory, situated in the heart of Spartanburg Community College Downtown Campus’ Spark Space, takes a momentous leap towards sustainable specialty chemicals.

A New Chapter Begins

Russell Stapleton, the visionary behind SusMaTech, expressed his motivation behind choosing this ideal location and his plans to inject innovative technologies into Spartanburg’s materials science and manufacturing sector. He said, “We aim to build upon the strong materials science and manufacturing base that already exists here in Spartanburg by developing greener options for our customers.”

A Hub For Talent and Innovation

Apart from its keen focus on developing sustainable products and processes, SusMaTech’s lab promises to be a pool of talent. SusMaTech is confident that their lab will attract bright minds from the scientific and engineering fields, aiming to make Spartanburg a technological hub that contributes to the growth of the local economy.

The support of the Spartanburg Community College (SCC) has been crucial in setting up this lab. SCC President Dr. Michael Mikota emphasized the institution’s mission to empower individuals and organizations to pursue their dreams and lauded SusMaTech’s efforts. “Our support for SusMaTech enables unique talent and ingenuity to advance innovation while simultaneously accelerating growth and prosperity for the communities we serve,” he said.

Sustainability Drive

With a clear vision, SusMaTech plans to replace non-renewable specialty chemicals with innovative green products. These products will be derived from bio-sourced and non-petroleum raw materials, contributing to a sustainable future. It’s an exciting time as Spartanburg rapidly evolves into an innovation hub with SusMaTech’s new lab setting a commendable standard.

Chief Economic Development Officer with OneSpartanburg Inc., Katherine O’Neill believes in the bright future SusMaTech is bringing to the table. “I believe they have a bright future ahead as they bring new technologies to the table for companies looking for greener options“, she said.

Building for a Sustainable Future!

The establishment of SusMaTech’s lab in Spartanburg is indeed a noteworthy step towards actualizing a sustainable future. It’s not just a laboratory but a beacon of promise, ingenuity, and an embodiment of a brighter, greener Spartanburg. This venture bodes well for both the scientific community seeking to impact positive change in the environment and the local community benefitting from economic growth.

Rather than sticking to the conventional non-renewable specialty chemicals, the world is gradually tuning into the melody of sustainability. In this context, SusMaTech’s contribution is like a beautiful note added to this grand symphony of change. Kudos to companies like SusMaTech that are making our planet a safer and greener place to live, while empowering the local communities and talent!
