Therapy Dogs and Education Combine in Spartanburg Initiative
Everyone’s best friend is stepping up to the plate in Spartanburg, not only to offer some precious pet therapy but to help kids rethink the meaning of learning and happiness. The Chaser Initiative has come up with a unique project that’s all about teaming up therapy dogs with kids. This is happening in our schools and community organizations. And guess what? It’s not just about the furkids being adorable. It’s a whole lot more!
The purpose of this initiative is to help kids explore what makes for a happy life, for themselves and their companion animals. They say, one size certainly doesn’t fit all, especially when it comes to learning. If the learning isn’t happening, then maybe it’s time we change our methods, right?
The Chaser Initiative Changes the Game
What The Chaser Initiative is doing is pretty cool. They want to change how kids see their pets. They reckon our relationship with nature is way closer than we think. It’s in our everyday experiences with our dogs. There are some simple truths dogs teach us: You get what you give. The joy in repetition. The secret language of body and vocal cues. Now these are lessons worth learning.
More Than Just Therapy Dogs in Schools
If you’re around the Downtown Campus of the Spartanburg Community College at 220 East Kennedy Street on October 22, 2024, between 6:00 and 8:00 PM, you’re in for a real treat. The Chaser Initiative will be hosting Pilley and Calum’s Process, Illustration & Publication event. This is a great opportunity to see how they work, what they do, and absorb some canine wisdom.
And hey, if you’re intrigued and want to bring this fantastic initiative to your school or organization, all it takes is an email. Reach out to thechaserinitive@gmail.com and who knows? Your kids might get to enjoy pet therapy and unlock a whole new way of learning.
Holiday Tips: Blankets, Platters, and Calendars
Speaking of fur-babies, as we prepare to hibernate over the holidays, what better way than in the softest wearable blankets? These are certainly a great way to keep you snug as a bug and as comfy as your dogs think they are on your couch.
Now, moving from the living room to the kitchen, a stellar serving platter for Thanksgiving can make a bigger impression than you might think. Ditch the regular plates and go for one of the top ten Thanksgiving platters that we found.
Finally, a fun way to anticipate Christmas Day is with an Advent calendar. They aren’t just about counting days; some offer exciting and cool little surprises for each day leading up to Christmas. It’s just the thing to make the holiday countdown a whole lot joyful.
All said and done, whether it’s pet therapy in schools, or getting the holidays just right, the magic lies in the small details.
