UNC Asheville Women’s Golf Team Shines at Terrier Intercollegiate with Fifth-Place Finish and Individual Runner-Up Caroline Patterson

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A Season Full of Surprises at the UNC Asheville Terrier Intercollegiate

Tuesday was a high-stakes day for the ladies of the UNC Asheville women’s golf team as they wrapped up their performance at the Terrier Intercollegiate event. Amid the excitement and stiff competition, our very own Bulldogs secured a respectable fifth-place finish, with Caroline Patterson shining as the individual runner-up.

A Winning Performance From Asheville’s A Team

Demonstrating excellent team work, Asheville’s A Team tied for fifth place, marking a significant achievement in their athletic journey. The team recorded a 3-round score of 934 (308, 308, 318), matching the performance of fellow Big South rival, Gardner-Webb. This success story didn’t end there, as the Bulldogs finished leagues ahead of other Big South opponents such as USC Upstate (10th) and Presbyterian (11th). The tournament saw Samford conquer all with a 3-round score of 904, but our Bulldogs certainly held their own.

A Resilient Display From B Team’s Bennett

Showing true tenacity and resilience, Bennett from the Bulldogs’ B Team scored the lowest round for her team on Tuesday. Navigating the challenging course, she shot an impressive 2-over par. Way to go, Bennett!

On the Horizon: The Mercer Invitational

While we rejoice in the team’s recent achievements, let’s not forget about the future. The Bulldogs are preparing for their last tournament of the fall season, the Mercer Invitational, which takes place next week from October 28-29. We are excited to see how they perform in this upcoming challenge and we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way!
