Spartanburg County, S.C. – A startling case of an apparent road rage incident is now making headline news as a local man reported his work van was shot at while driving along Business 85, near Hearon Circle.

The incident, which occurred earlier this week, has sparked an investigation by the Spartanburg County Sheriffโ€™s Office. According to the report filed, the victim was driving his work van on Business 85 when another motorist in a white Honda Accord fired a shot at him.

Details of the Road Rage Incident

The victim told deputies that the Honda Accord was sporting a North Carolina license plate. The driver allegedly pulled out a gun and fired into the side of the victim’s van. The victim further speculates that he may have angered the other driver by attempting to cut him off as they tried to pass him on the right.

Following the incident, the Honda Accord exited the highway at exit 4 while the victim continued on home before contacting the sheriffโ€™s office. Deputies later examined the vehicle and discovered a single bullet hole in the right sliding cargo door of the van.

No injuries reported

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in relation to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities are on the hunt for the driver of the white Honda Accord. As in all such investigations, they are thoroughly exploring the incident and gathering relevant information to ensure the person responsible for such an act of violence is held accountable.

While incidents of road rage are not uncommon, the act of firing a weapon during such an incident raises the level of concern. Road safety remains a crucial issue, and local authorities are working tirelessly to ensure it remains a top priority.

The Spartanburg County Sheriffโ€™s Office is urging anyone who has information about the incident, or who might have witnessed the exchange, to reach out to them. The more details they can gather, the better equipped they will be to solve the case quickly and to prevent any such incidents from happening in the future.
