East Tennessee State closes out its SoCon schedule on Sunday looking for a series victory at Wofford’s King Field in Spartanburg, South Carolina
East Tennessee State (32-16) can’t win the Southern Conference title, but it can finish no worse than third place with a victory on Sunday at King Field in Spartanburg, South Carolina, against Wofford (32-16). The Buccaneers stand 13-7 in the SoCon entering their final conference game of the season, trailing Samford and UNC Greensboro. The Terriers, 9-7 in conference play sit a half-game behind Western Carolina in fifth place and visit Samford next weekend.
East Tennessee State last visited the NCAA tournament in 2013 while Wofford made its lone appearance in 2007 and won the SoCon regular-season title in 2022.

The Buccaneers never trailed on Saturday while hammering out 15 hits in a 15-8 victory. Cameron Sisneros belted two home runs, including a grand slam, and finished with eight RBI. Blake Jacklin and Ryan McCarthy also went deep. Nick Iannantone slashes .388/.5-6/.552 while Sisneros leads the team with 19 home runs and 75 RBI. Cody Miller has 18 stolen bases in 20 attempts.
Marshall Toole finished 3-for-5 for the Terriers while Dixon Black drove in two runs. Brice Martinez hits .385/.451/.564, Tyler Hare tops the team with 13 homers and Black owns a team-best 62 RBI. Wofford’s starter on Sunday was not declared. Freshman right-hander Michael Harpster (8-1) takes the hill for East Tennessee State. In 59.2 innings, Harpster authored a 5.13 ERA and 1.32 WHIP.
