Summer Ushers in New Activities in the Upstate

As May rolls into a close, the arrival of June signals the beginning of the summer season and along with it comes a plethora of activity options to keep everyone entertained. The summer season in Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson brings a range of outdoor activities such as nature spa retreats, scavenger hunts, family fun day events, a zoo fest, comedy shows, skate sessions, dance lessons, and veterans fishing events.

Greenville Zoo Fest

Mark your calendars for Grenville Zool Fest this Saturday, June 1, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event is a fundraising extravaganza for the Greenville Zoo, with adult admission priced at $30 and child admission at $20. Ages 2 and under can enter for free. Attendees will enjoy viewing animals, live music, and activities for the children. On offer are a variety of food options for purchase, including wine, beer, and Pepsi products. Complimentary public parking is available in Cleveland Park.

Skate Till Sunset, Greenville

Enjoy a fun-filled family evening at Skate Till Sunset at Unity Park, located at 320 S. Hudson St. on May 31 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event features themed skate sessions, including synchronized skating, original routines, popular footwork, and freestyle sessions. General admission ticket is only $5. A Safety Stretch and warm-up skate sessions are also included in the lineup.

Bollywood at Sunset, Greenville

For an exotic and family-friendly evening, join Bollywood at Sunset on May 31 at Camperdown Plaza. Starting at 6 p.m., the event begins with a dance lesson followed by a dynamic DJ and light show, dancing, and a cash bar. This free event brings a touch of India to downtown Greenville through music and dance.

Day Retreat in Anderson

Waiting for something to do on a summer evening? How about attending the Relax in Nature Day Retreat at Putney Farm. This peaceful retreat blends meditation, yoga, outdoor activities, herbal teas, woodland trails, a food forest, and an herbal farm. From morning 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the full-day event is your go-to option for a one-of-a-kind date night.

Family Fun Day in Anderson

Anderson Country Office of Coroner Drug Education is organizing a Free Family Fun Day featuring a range of activities such as a Fire Smokehouse, a fire truck, an ambulance, a helicopter, a foam cannon, a Gellyball Shooting Gallery. In addition to food and beverage vendors, a line-up of local entrepreneurs will also be offering their products and services.

Comedy Hour, Anderson

Attention veterans! Tactical Tungsten is hosting a Take a Veteran Fishing event on June 1, as a part of its annual celebrations. Paired with boat captains, all veterans will be treated to a lunch and fellowship after a day of fishing and camaraderie.
